If you haven't read Gina's update on the home page, go do it now. As I suspected, for some time now she's had a full plate of poo to deal with but from what she posted yesterday things are falling into place for her. Here's hoping she can get the last 3 episodes of Millennium out (because it's killing me to know how she's going to write J7 and Section 31!)
I was just getting ready to update the JB&M ebook with a new graphic - when 7 and Janeway marry - NOT any new text or stories, but I might wait for awhile and see if she puts out a new story.
I hope everyone is doing well out there and though we haven't posted much here lately I know the diehard fans will come back and take a peak at what's new.

Oh yeah... See, even as I was reading it I thought of Lynn as Sydney! I'm a derp! Sorry, wish I could like it but I don't. I wish there was a way to PM you... I think this site needs some maintenance... because I have some stories you would like. One of my favorites is a B'Elanna/Seven story, which I guess says alot about how I think of Janeway ... she's MINE, all MINE.

Hi river! Your post is so ironic - I also, just yesterday, tried to find this sites membership list so I could PM someone. No luck for me either.
Anyway, I read the first two books even though the J/Sydney ship sat in my mind like rotten seafood would sit in my stomach, making me slightly nauseous - so did the Ravi/Seven ship, but when I got to the end of the 2nd book where Sydney is now the sole owner of her parents company I just could not go forward to book 3. It was just so farfetched!
Nothing against Fletcher DeLancey, as I've already confessed that I loved her Chronicles of Alsea series and she is an excellent writer. It's because I've read JB&M so many times over so many years that I think I'm a character in the JB&M universe - like I'm some kind of Starfleet auditor that watches everyone and notes everything but never speaks and is never seen. It's like I LIVE THERE! So going into another Janeway/Starfleet reality, in my mind, CAN NOT HAPPEN or the fabric of space/time will rupture and my brain will explode.

Hi RobinD, I have been wondering if you did start the Past Imperfect Series and if you did how are you getting on with it? I tried to find a way to PM you here and on the old site but I can’t find a way. I didn’t want to say too much on this forum about Fletcher’s books as this is Gina’s site, even if this is the corner where we talk about all sorts, however I would love to know if you have got used to Janeway with someone other than Seven, and are you enjoying the Seven & Lynn & B’Elanna friendship?

Back to Janeway/Seven ship.... if Janeway was NOT involved with Seven I'm not sure there would be anything for Gina to write about... maybe this is why the Counselor series didn't get too far. The dynamic of child-like Seven with an older, wiser woman just had so many plot possibilities, that two similarly strong women - Janeway/Sydney - could not offer.
Have to agree, also, that I have been skimming/skipping the love scenes this time around. Again, I'm hooting at this since a few years ago I had marked my favorites so I could find them quickly to re-read. Oh my, how time (and age) changes everything.
Haven't seen Game of Thrones, Deadwood, Grace and Frankie but HA!, I did see a few episodes of the Traveler. I liked it but apparently not enough to watch more of it. My go-to TV series' are Battlestar Galactica - with James Olmos, and Fringe. I have both on DVD and during the summer when it's 115 outside I tend to watch them marathon style. After my obsession with Janeway (NOT Kate Mulgrew but Gina's character) I fell for Fringe's Olivia Dunham (NOT Anna Torv). That's not weird, is it? To fall for a character not the person playing the part?
Frankly, I do not care for Jerri Ryan or Kate Mulgrew and don't go out of my way to watch anything they're in. I ask again; is that weird?
Lastly; Logical, every book is always 2000 times better than the show/movie... everybody knows that. (Perfect example: The Expanse series) Which is why I never read the book before seeing the movie because otherwise I know it's going to suck with everything they had to leave out. Generally TV series are harder to dislike for that reason since I only watch the series after I've read the book but they don't suck as bad since they have a longer time to bring out all the threads in the book.
I saw 'Taken' recently, I know it's an older movie, but now I'm into those sequels and the John Wick movies. I just love, love, love somebody getting what they deserve since that doesn't seem to be happening in real life anymore.
Give me some of your favorite Sci-fi movies... there just may be one I missed, doubtful but possible.

It's now official... I MUST READ PAST IMPERFECT SERIES. I had no idea Andira Tal was in something other than Chronicles!
Otherwise River, are you insane!? (LOL, jk) Janeway with anyone other than Seven is like... like Peanut Butter and Tuna fish; like Mashed Potatoes and Lima Beans. NO, NO, NO. (or like a new commercial on TV; a shower stall lined with carpet! A BIG NOPE!) Really too funny how we humans perceive what goes together the best.... but I guess I have to allow you your opinion (still kidding). I did enjoy the counselor series though, even though my brain kept saying NO and my heart hurt for Seven. BWAHAHA, it makes me laugh now.

Is anyone into the Deadwood series? The movie just arrived on HBO. My gf has HBO so we watched it last night. It tied up the loose ends from when the series was canceled, gave the series a decent ending.
Game of Thrones? Did you like the way it ended? I thought this last season was rushed.
I miss AF. I don't think she has posted anything here on the new board.

Ok, here's what I found out about Kate Mulgrew possibly playing Capt. Janeway again... on the site Fast Trek the guy said that Kate posted on her FB page that she was finishing her role as Red on Orange is the New Black but was open to opportunities to play Janeway again. This guy speculated that she could have some role in the upcoming ST:Picard. So, if anyone has FB drop in on Kate's page and let us know what the real scoop is.

OMG, I was so happy to see you both, riversong (love that name!) and logical! That's the difficulty when Gina isn't active... we all depend on seeing something, anything, from her that we sometimes forget each other. BTW, Gina had some health problems awhile ago but from what I understand she's doing much better now. (I shouldn't speak about her - but what the hell - at least you know why she hasn't been on for awhile.)
I did hear that ST:Picard will be on Amazon. Also read that it will not be an action/special effects kind of show. I'll have to watch it of course, and then make up my own mind. Have read a couple of days ago that Kate Mulgrew is not inclined to bring Capt. Janeway back. WHAT!!? Is there a chance of a Voyager comeback!? IDK, but she ain't Capt. Janeway anymore IMO. That statement is ironic considering that Patrick Stewart is 132 y.o. and he's coming back.
Someone on this forum rec Fletcher DeLancy's series 'The Chronicles of Alsea' - 6 books in the series - and I'm on my second read of that. Strange in some ways; swords and capes aren't my thing, but I've really enjoyed it. All available on Amazon or Fletcher's site.
I've read JB&M regularly for many many moons, years of moons, and this read I'm actually surprised how much sex is in them. I swear to God, the Holy Ghost and Vice President Pence's wife, 'Mother', that Gina writes the most outstanding love (and I do mean 'love', since the physical act is always saturated with it) scenes of any author, at any time, EVER! I do so wish that this life long - seriously Gina's been writing this series for 25 years - labor of love could be published and reach a wider audience and make her some money too! That will never happen of course and if it did Gina'd have to give it to Paramount.
Keep posting! I don't care about what... anything will do.

I used to pop in every few weeks but there was nothing going on.
No discussion about the new Picard series? behind a paywall like the last trek series?
I haven't seen Discovery. I won't pay for access.

Hi River... I, too really like ST:D... but this Miscellaneous thread isn't the spot to post in. I made a thread in the Star Trek area (that thread is Janeway/Seven ready to kiss picture). Move your post to there - if you want to. Anybody that wants to comment on a Star Trek show would probably look there first.

Good idea jbuniverse and I will start by talking about Star Trek Discovery. Has anyone seen the latest episode? Michelle Yeoh featured in it and it was brilliant. This episode really explains why the series so far has not seemed like Star Trek and I personally am now wondering might we even eventually see a return of Michelle Yeoh as ‘The Captain’ !!
I will not say much more here as I don’t want to spoil it for those who haven’t seen it but if anyone here wants to talk about it properly I will start a new thread in this area with larger spoiler alerts on it.
I am now so excited about Star Trek Discovery and if anyone gave up on it after the first few episodes I really recomend giving it another chance and sticking with it at least until the end of the first season. I am so glad I watched it from the start because there was not news out there and everything came as a shock or surprise to me. Now I expect most people will know before watching, for example, that Captain Georgiou is killed in the first episode and it will not be such a shock to them as it was to me.
I am even enjoying Cadet Tilly in the role she is playing now although I still don’t see her as one half of a lesbian couple in fanfiction which it seems most STDisc femslash writers are doing at the moment. Mind you I had a hard time seeing Seven as a suitable partner for Janeway to begin with. My favourite STDisc character at the moment is Admiral Cornwell and could easily see her as part of a lesbian couple (well if you ignore the fact that she jumped into bed with Lorca :-( I would love to see more femslash stories about her. She reminds me a vaguely of Janeway, not in looks but in character, but that is probably only because she is an authority figure and is wishful thinking on my part.
Anybody watching AfterTrek? That is awesome, it is really filling you in on all the tidbits as we go along.
